Sara Akers responded quickly to her desire to help the victims of Hurricane Florence. She managed to launch a statewide relief effort in less than 24 hours.
Barre, Vermont, resident Sara Akers organizes a supply drive and delivery in partnership with Hope Heroes.
“We found Hope Heroes, which is a nonprofit organization in Illinois that specializes in helping out people in disaster zones,” Akers said. “I’ve been in contact with their executive director and talking about how to get this all together. Hope Heroes is going to be able deliver the supplies to people affected.”
